First, let me start by saying I am a parent that does her research. My little angel, is five years old and has autism. She has attended daycare before and has Pre-K under her belt.
My family had to move unexpectedly, to the city where we know no one, due to changes in employment. And that lack of a support system and near by family and friends left us with the knowledge, that dropped like a thud, that our tiny tot would have to be enrolled in daycare for after school care. Let me just say that my little girl cried every time she was dropped off at her old school and daycare, so I was quite nervous about this new daycare adventure. She was always left in a corner with her Kindle by her Pre-K teacher. And she learned nothing. She hated school and daycare and was very angry when she HAD to go.
Before I enrolled my precious child here, I went in and checked the place out. Mrs. Annette Lee gave me a tour. I explained my child's disability, and she could tell I was nervous. Something about this extraordinary woman put me at ease.
My munchkin has been in attendance at this center for about six weeks, and she has had no issues. Her teacher Miss Tia is very tuned in to my child's needs. She has made friends and loves daycare. She actually wants to go there on Saturdays and gets a little sad when I tell her that they are closed because they need family time. Then she asks can Miss Tia come over to play? How sweet....So, let me leave you parents with a final funny. My child is a creature of habit and routine. One day Mrs. Annette did not drive the van to my little one's school to pick her up, and my girl wouldn't get on the bus because she didn't know the new driver.Well, that great van driver called Mrs. Annette and put her on the phone with my daughter to reassure her everything was okay and she would be waiting for her at the daycare. My baby relaxed and got right on the bus. The staff at this daycare is amazing.
